CORNHUSKER ARMY AMMUNITION PLANT
SEEKS PUBLIC INPUT ON THE PROPOSED PLAN FOR OPERABLE UNIT 1

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, announces the start of a public comment period for the Proposed Plan for Operable Unit 1 at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant, Grand Island, Nebraska. The public comment period for the Proposed Plan will begin on February 17, 2025 and ends on March 19, 2025. The Proposed Plan summarizes the selection of the preferred alternative (In-Situ Bioremediation with Groundwater Monitoring and Land Use Controls). In accordance with the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act Sections 113(k) and 117(a) and the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan Section 300.430(f)(2) under Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations requirements, the public is invited to review and comment on the Operable Unit 1 Proposed Plan. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will consider all written comments received during the public comment period and will accept comments by e-mail or postal mail. All comments must include the name, address, and telephone number of the person commenting.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold a Public Meeting on March 4, 2025 to present the Operable Unit 1 Proposed Plan and to review site history and environmental investigations that have been conducted at the site. The Public Meeting is open to the public and community members are invited to attend.
